Shannon’s goal is to create mental and emotional space for her clients by consolidating and prioritizing the complexities of their financial lives. Along with other members of the Benchmark team, she designs, implements, and maintains investment plans that give a “hands-off” feeling while keeping the collaborative spirit intact. As her client, Shannon wants to be the financial friend you didn’t know you needed so you can focus your energies on your zones of genius at work and home.
Shannon has specialized experience in estate and financial planning. She holds her FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial, her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, and her CES™ (Certified Estate and Trust Specialist™) designation. Client education is important to Shannon. She will take the extra time to teach and explain as needed.
Shannon and her husband Hunter have three kiddos, Annie, Audrey, and Andrew—but Rue, the dog, was first. They like art, comedy, food, and fitness. They are active members at First Evan Church and in the Memphis community. Shannon trains for long-distance races with her Sea Isle Park Running Club, and she races as a St. Jude Hero every year. On vacation, the Acostas like to eat, ski, visit historical sites, and spend time with family. They can’t do life without their friends and family, who continually motivate them to be better stewards and neighbors.
Shannon graduated from Maryville College with a Business and Organizational Management degree. She has an M.S. in Finance from the University of Memphis. Before joining our team in 2014, Shannon worked in accounting for Marriott Business Services and Marriott International.
